Strategy Analytics surveyed consumers in the US, Western Europe, and China regarding their interest in telematics and remote vehicle management services such as automated emergency service alerts, usage-based insurance discounts and tracking a vehicle’s location. Services which provide a direct benefit to the consumer in terms of saved cost or time and safety, remain extremely desirable. Consumers’ continued strong willingness to pay, combined with low consumer sentiment for existing apps, indicates a missed market opportunity within certain segments for specific telematics features.
