Chinese Consumers Exhibit Great Interest in Voice RecognitionControl
This report presents the findings of Strategy Analytics’ consumer focus group research on in-vehicle navigation systems in Shanghai, China. Though users are less satisfied with the accuracy of embedded navigation system and PNDs, they still use them as their main navigation device for voice guidance, but tend to supplement them with mobile navigation apps. Chinese consumers expect an easier way to update the maps on embedded navigation systems and PNDs. Also, consumers are open to paying an additional fee for unlimited map updates when purchasing their navigation device. Chinese consumers are very interested in voice recognition, but wary of usability issues.
