Steering wheels are key to creating a safe, intuitive and enjoyable in-vehicle user experience. TechInsights investigated the impact of age, technology affinity and vehicle brands on SW buttons and control satisfaction overall as well as human factors aspects that define the user interaction.
TechInsights undertook a worldwide internet-based survey to investigate consumers’ satisfaction with their steering wheel (SW) controls and features.
A total of 3,667 car owners across the US (1,182), UK, France Germany, Italy (1,095 combined) and China (1,390) were surveyed.
Only respondents with certain SW features were surveyed about said features. Additionally, they were surveyed about their first hand experience with features and aspects towards the buttons and controls of the steering wheel.
