Report Summary:

Ambarella, a supplier of Image Signal Processors for cameras in the activity and drone sectors, announced its intention to diversify into automotive and surveillance cameras by demonstrating the CV1 and CV22 chipsets at CES 2018.  It has recently launched the CV2 automotive ISP, which, it claims, has 20 times the Deep Neural Network processing power of its CV1 predecessor.  Such a product has the potential to challenge incumbents like Mobileye for the front vision space and fellow automotive newcomers NVIDIA for enhancing data processing efficiency in central ADAS processors for autonomous driving applications.
