Nokia E71: Most Widely Available Phone in Q1 2009
The Nokia E71 was the most widely available phone offered by carriers around the
world in Q1 2009. Of the 145 mobile network operators tracked across 29
countries, the E71 appeared in the product portfolios of 52 network operators.
Nokias account for 9 of top 20
Nine of the top twenty phones were from Nokia, three each were from Samsung and
Sony Ericsson, with HTC, Apple and RIM taking the remaining five slots.
BlackBerrys Finally Displacing RAZR
Regional analysis reveals some startling variations, with the Motorola RAZR V3
still appearing on more carriers’ websites in the Americas than any other phone.
But, four BlackBerry handsets appeared in the top six in North and South
America.
Touch in 5 of top 10 in Europe
In Europe, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson each held three of the top ten
slots, with HTC taking the remainder. Five of these top ten handsets supported a
touchscreen.
BlackBerry Bold tops Asia Pac.
Across the eleven countries researched in the Asia Pacific region, the
BlackBerry Bold 9000 took top spot, appearing in the portfolios of 16 carriers.
