Summary

The global TV games console market is notoriously known for its ups and downs of console hardware sales. After a reviving year of 2010, TV games consoles lacked growth momentum again in 2011. Nintendo announced its next generation console Wii U without disclosing many details of the device. Microsoft and Sony focused on enhancing content support and online platforms as well as extending the lifecycle of the current generation consoles. Without a significant catalyst, however, the total TV games console market was not able to grow. The market will continue to face a bumpy road until new waves of games consoles revive the demand.
