Summary

As AESA technology continues to become a standard requirement for radar systems on fast-jets, South Korea has launched the competitive phase of a program to upgrade 134 Lockheed Martin F-16s with AESA radars. In electronic warfare, Raytheon's Miniature Air Launched Decoy Jammer variant while in guided weapons, Raytheon received U.S. Congressional and State Department approvals on a $1.7 billion Direct Commercial Sales contract to upgrade the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Patriot Air and Missile Defense System. Harris continues to win contracts for its radios and also announced plans to create a new $100 million high-tech center on its Palm Bay campus. In the area of EO-IR sensors and systems, Northrop Grumman and Selex Galileo are developing a commercial iDIRCM system while Lockheed Martin received a contract to complete the development of the IRST sensor system for the U.S. Navy F/A-18E/F.
