Summary

Driven by the explosion of application downloads to smart devices, mobile gaming is poised for growth. Strategy Analytics interviewed 30 mobile gaming users regarding their attitudes toward innovative mobile gaming approaches and associated pricing models. Our research suggests that the option to purchase games outright must be a part of any purchase model aimed at casual mobile gamers since rental or pay-per-use models are of limited interest to this segment. Participants also experienced five different types of mobile gaming experiences. Gaming with a touchscreen and accelerometer, and multiplayer gaming via Bluetooth provided the most enhanced user experience.
